About

Carolyn Christenson is an occupational therapist with over twenty years of experience in specialized rehabilitation of traumatic shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand injuries. Carolyn has worked in clinics where treatment of injured workers with repetitive strain injuries and workers compensation cases stressed return to work outcomes and safety, prevention programs in the workplace.

Carolyn taught at Humboldt State University in the kinesiology department with an emphasis on injury prevention and aquatics rehabilitation for athletes, adapted physical education and motor learning. She started clinics for children in adapted swimming, sports and mainstreamed summer sports camps.

In 2000, Carolyn visited France and provided training and consultation in hand therapy at rehab hospitals in Angers, Rennes, and Le Mann. The following year, Carolyn joined the World Hope International “Limbs of Hope” team to provide training and fitting of prosthetics in Sierra Leone, West Africa. Carolyn has presented as a keynote speaker at orthopedic conferences in Northern California. Occupational therapy can provide a safe return to work through jobsite evaluation, ergonomic training and on-site work simplification for industrial and private businesses.
